How does the Rapid RH® Bluetooth® Smart Reader give me ambient temperature & relative humidity readings?

The Smart Reader has a sensor built into the device itself. When you take a reading from the concrete, in situ and ambient temperature and relative humidity readings are wirelessly sent to the CalMaster or DataMaster™ app.

With the RH 5.0 sensor, the Rapid RH® Bluetooth® Smart Reader is used in conjunction with the (free) CalMaster application or the (paid) DataMaster™ app as a documentation tool to prove calibration verifications, which must be done every 30 days to ensure the RH 5.0 sensor is within the accuracy parameters that the F2170 Standard requires.

The calibration is done by first placing the 5.0 sensor on top of the EasyCare CalCheck®, which is an RH generator. Then the user specifies the salt solution of the EasyCare CalCheck® using the app. Next the user inserts the Rapid RH® Bluetooth® Smart Reader into the sensor. Relative humidity and temperature readings will go automatically to the user’s mobile device, which will reveal if the sensor is within tolerance to continue using.
